On February 26, 2024, a significant meeting took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where Md. Jashim Uddin, President of the SCCI, along with Mr. Shafquat Haider, Vice President of SCCI (Bangladesh Chapter), called on H.E. Dr. Hasan Mahmud, the newly appointed Foreign Minister of Bangladesh.

President Jashim Uddin extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Hasan Mahmud for assuming office as the Foreign Minister in January 2024. The meeting highlight the potential areas of collaboration aligned with SCCI’s objectives. The conversation also delved into regional matters of shared interest. He highlighted the contributions to promoting growth in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), empowering young entrepreneurs, role in nurturing small and medium enterprises across South Asia, facilitation of cross-border business ties was acknowledged.

H.E. Dr. Hasan Mahmud expressed gratitude to President SCCI for the visit. He reiterated Bangladesh’s full support and collaboration in fostering regional economic cooperation within the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) framework. Dr. Mahmud emphasized the collective responsibility of all SAARC nations in achieving shared prosperity and sustainable growth across South Asia.
