Md. Helal Chowdury, Director General, SARCO, visited the SCCI headquarters building to meet Mr. Zulfiqar Butt, Secretary General, SCCI, and Mr. Zubair Ahmad Malik, Executive Committee Member (Pakistan) & Vice Chairman Building Committee, SCCI, on January 30, 2024, in Islamabad, Pakistan.

During the meeting, Mr. Zulfiqar Butt, Secretary General, SCCI, apprised him about the Presidential visit to Nepal and sideline meetings that discussed matters related to the renewal of registration of SAARC apex bodies in the absence of the 38th SAARC Standing Committee meeting since 2016.

Mr. Zubair Ahmed Malik, Executive Committee Member, SCCI (Pakistan), and Vice Chairman Building Committee discussed the progress of the SCCI headquarters building project and reiterated the importance of regional cooperation in the absence of regular SAARC meetings.

Mr. Helal emphasized the importance of arbitration in an interconnected world, explaining that business investors and stakeholders need reliable dispute-resolution mechanisms. He encouraged collaborative projects to support the SAARC mandate, promoting investment and economic growth across South Asia.

This meeting not only reinforced the ties between SCCI and SARCO but also set the stage for future collaborative efforts to foster a more robust and dispute-resilient business environment across South Asia.
