Mr. Sayeed in a meeting with Secretary General, SAFE, at SAARC CCI Headquarters stresses that “SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SAARC CCI) and South Asian Federation of exchanges (SAFE) need to work closely to promote economic activities in the region of South Asia”.

Mr. Sayeed said cooperation in Science and Technology at regional level was instrumental to socio-economic uplift of South Asia that could augment socio-economic cooperation in the region manifold. He was of the opinion that one of the reasons for poor socio-economic indicators of South Asia was due to ignorance of cooperation in Science & Technology.

SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized “Roundtable on SAFTA: Prospects and Opportunities for Trade in Services” in Industry in collaboration with Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry supported by (Friedrich Naumann Foundation) in Thimphu, on 24th June 2009. Roundtable aimed at identifying the constraints of trade liberalization in South Asia, creating awareness about the need and highlighted advantages under trade in Services.
