“Unlocking Climate Investment Opportunities in SAARC”: Water Management And Scalable Business Solutions

SAARC CCI organized a one day seminar on  “Unlocking Climate Investment Opportunities in SAARC”: Water Management And Scalable Business Solutions” in collaboration with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and in Partnership with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) on October 24, 2017 in Chennai, India.

The objective of the seminar was to identify and evaluate the business opportunities in water sustainability across SAARC region in context of climate change mitigation and adaptation and create awareness on the role of private sector in sustainability of water resources and usage.

Hon'ble Shri. CH. Vidyasagar Rao, Governor of Tamil Nadu-India was the Chief Guest of the seminar and gave an inaugural address.

 The inaugural session was also addressed by Mr. Suraj Vaidya, President, SAARC CCI, Mr. Ar Rm Arun, Chairman FICCI TNSC & Chairman Valingro Group-India, Mr. P. Murari IAS (Retd) Advisor to FICCI President & Former Secretary to President of India, and Mr. Vinod Juneja, Vice President SAARC CCI (India), and Mr. Mengistu Alemayehu, Regional Director International Finance Cooperation, South Asia

The inaugural session of the seminar was followed by panel discussion on “Unlocking Climate Investment Opportunities in SAARC” chaired by Ms. Naina Shakya, ICIMOD, Nepal and a session on “Climate Change, Water and Private Sector: Scalable Business Solutions” chaired by Mr. Suraj Vaidya, President SAARC CCI.
