A delegation led by Mr. Suraj Vaidya, President SAARC CCI, crossed WAGHA-ATTARI border

A delegation led by Mr. Suraj Vaidya, President, crossed Wagha Attari border, on January 27, 2017. The delegation comprised of leading businessmen from all member states of SAARC. This initiative was symbolic of spreading peace and spreading the willingness to engage in cross border trade.
A Media Conference was held at the Wagha border. The President of SAARC CCI said that the endeavor aimed to disseminate a message of peace and harmony across the region and beyond. He added that our path towards regional integration has become inevitable. Mr. Iftikhar Ali Malik, Vice President, SAARC CCI (Pakistan) while reinforcing the role SAARC CCI in strengthening regional economic integration, said that the business community of the region believes in harmony and advocates regional economic integration to address the major challenges the region faces including job creation and poverty. On this occasion Mr. Vinod Juneja, Vice President, SAARC CCI (India) said that deeper commitment at the political level is integral to make SAARC effective, realize its fundamental goals and unleash the true socio economic potential of the region.

Mr. Suraj Vaidya, President SAARC CCI while addressing a press conference at Wagah, Lahore said CPEC would benefit the entire SAARC region, adding that the only viable way to unleash the true potential of SAARC region is via joint efforts.

Mr. Macky Hashim, former President, SAARC CCI (Sri Lanka), Mr. Om Bahadur Rajbhandari, Vice President, SAARC CCI (Nepal), Dr. Ronald Meinardus, Regional Director, FNF also shared their views with media on this occasion.
